Look at how Owen is pointing at Dallin like, "It was his fault".

Babysitting the boys
We watched Owen's friend, Dallin, the other night, and it was a lot of fun. As you can see in this picture, they were both going crazy. We could hardly keep them under control. Okay, maybe it wasn't that crazy, but it was fun. Dallin's parents are Landon and Heather, they are also 1st year law students from Utah, and they live in the same apartment complex as us. It's fun having them around, because they're our friends and because we exchange babysitting. Which is really nice. Owen is 3 1/2 months and Dallin is about 6 1/2 months. The age difference seems huge right now, but eventually, you won't even be able to tell.

It's totally a camera trick. I bet they are the same size.
That's so cute, you guys look like you could easily handle another kid. :)
How Fun! Owen is so cute!! He's getting so big. Maggie's jealous of his chubby cheeks! :)
That's neat that you have found another couple to trade babysitting with. Do you guys like living in Oregon? I've always wanted to go there for some reason, but I don't even know what there is to do. It just looks pretty.
Kristin,
I just read your comment on my blog. Yeah, most people start their babies on rice cereal at about 4 months. My pediatrician recommends starting at about 4 months, but she had me wait an additional 2 weeks with Maggie because she wanted to see what supplementing with formula alone would do to her weight. Well, it didn't change anything, so she gave me the go-ahead to do the rice cereal at 4.5 months.
Most doctors will recommend you start out doing it 1 time a day, but because Maggie needs more calories, they're having me do it twice. I am breastfeeding her, but I mix a little formula in with her cereal for the calories. Are you breastfeeding? They say you can add either breastmilk, formula, or just water with the rice cereal when you feed it to them.
It's fun to feed them rice cereal. I had been looking forward to it for a while. They don't get it at first so you have to make it runny so they can learn how to swallow it and stuff. We of course got the whole thing on video. We're such "first time parents." LOL.
Blake, I just wanted to tell you thanks! I think that's one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to me.
Kristin I was reading Carlee's comment and just wanted to tell you that most pediatricians are actually now recommending that you wait until they are six months because they are finding evidence of if you start too early it is being shown to increase the risk for Type 1 diabetes. Where Owen is a little small though they might have you start at four months. Hope that helps
Owen looks like he's really growing! What a cutie. So I just have to tell you I discovered a new way to do tummy time that Cole loves. I put him on the bottom of my legs and lean back so he's kind of flying over me (I don't know if this makes sense) but he LOVES it and it's totally helping him strengthen the same muscles but we don't have to go through the screaming and crying :) You should try it with Owen!
That's interesting what Heidi said. I have never heard that before. I believe we both have the same Dr. (Dr. Clawson), so I'll have to ask her. I was always told that it's good to start kids on the rice cereal before 6 months so they don't become set in their ways and so they won't become picky eaters. I had never heard that about the diabetes...Very interesting. They're always coming out with new studies and findings it seems, huh? Makes you wonder how we all survived to adulthood (that's what my mom tells me all the time). :)
But, yeah, my Dr. told me to give her the cereal twice a day. I guess every pediatrician has their own philosophies, so just ask Owen's what he/she recommends and go with that. :)
