What we've been doing today

I know I still haven't posted any pictures of the new house, they will be coming soon. I have not been in the blogging mood for quite some time, but I thought I'd write a quick post on what we've been doing today.
Owen and Ella thought it would be great fun to color mommy's carpet green!
Sorry for the bad pic, I was so flustered, I couldn't hold still. Plus the camera was on some weird setting.
Luckily for me, it turned out to be this green bubble bath stick and wasn't permanent.
So off to the store we went to rent a steam cleaner. I won't even put a picture of what we looked like on here, because we looked like ragamuffins.
Here is the after pic. Luckily, it all came up and now my house smells like green apples.

Then I started feeling bad that I yelled at the kids, so we made a special treat for a snack...fried tortilla snowflakes with powdered sugar and sugar and cinnamon. They were delicious and I think the kids forgave me with the first bite.

The day is young, on to the next adventure...naptime.

Fun trip to Portland

Back in November, Blake had a conference in Portland to go to for work, so the kids and I decided to head up with him and explore the city. We haven't really spent much time in Portland, so I was really excited to have a few days to play. The first day, while Blake was in his meetings, the kids and I went to the Portland Children's Museum, and it was awesome. The kids had a blast. They went from exhibit to exhibit for 6 hours...can you believe it? We did stop for lunch half way though, but other than that, there was no stopping these two. The second and third day, I put Ella in my pack and Owen and I walked all over the downtown district. We rode the Max, the streetcar, and the trolley, went to Powell's Books (the largest independent book store in the world- it occupies a full city block, it's HUGE), ate street food, window shopped, went to IKEA, drove to Vancouver (just so we could say we went to Washington), all while getting lost at every turn. It was a blast. I hope we can do it again next year.

They loved the water room, we had to go there twice. We actually went to pretty much everything twice.

The huge train table was probably his favorite.

He loved riding the "really big train".
