Fun trip to Portland

Back in November, Blake had a conference in Portland to go to for work, so the kids and I decided to head up with him and explore the city. We haven't really spent much time in Portland, so I was really excited to have a few days to play. The first day, while Blake was in his meetings, the kids and I went to the Portland Children's Museum, and it was awesome. The kids had a blast. They went from exhibit to exhibit for 6 hours...can you believe it? We did stop for lunch half way though, but other than that, there was no stopping these two. The second and third day, I put Ella in my pack and Owen and I walked all over the downtown district. We rode the Max, the streetcar, and the trolley, went to Powell's Books (the largest independent book store in the world- it occupies a full city block, it's HUGE), ate street food, window shopped, went to IKEA, drove to Vancouver (just so we could say we went to Washington), all while getting lost at every turn. It was a blast. I hope we can do it again next year.

They loved the water room, we had to go there twice. We actually went to pretty much everything twice.

The huge train table was probably his favorite.

He loved riding the "really big train".
