So long, friend

Last night one of my longest and closest friends was stolen from me. My bike. It was a good bike, we've been through a lot together, and at one point in my life, it was my only mode of transportation. I'd like to hope that it was stolen and given to a little boy who's last wish was to ride a Cannondale Jekyll 700 SX mountain bike. But it was probably some homeless hippie that needed some money to buy more meth.
Good bye bike, you will be missed.

Ok, I sat on here for a few minutes last night trying to comment and I couldn't. Glad to know I wasn't just doing something stupid. Anyway, this kind of thing just ticks me off. Seriously. Why do people have to steal things? I just get so mad about it. I'm really sorry about that because I know how annoyed/violated I feel when anything of mine is missing/stolen. I hope you can at least find another bike that you will like as well.

You know there are two things that really bug me about what happened:
First, those biking pictures are from the day we got engaged up at the top of Snowbasin Ski resort. It was a really neat day and now those photos will remind of of the time someone stole Kristin's bike.
Second, we live on the second floor of an apartment building. The "perp" must have climbed up and lowered the bike down to a buddy. The "perp" was literally 3 ft from our bedroom window. (Luckily we weren't home). I feel my castle has been sacked.

Blake, I totally know what you mean! I'm still in shock it happened! That means somebody was looking closely enough at your balcony to KNOW what was up there, to wait until it was dark and there were no lights on, and bring a friend! WHAT A......can't pick the right word. Did we mentioned we've now locked Landon's bike to my bike, and my bike to the trailer on our balcony?! It's ridiculous....

I kept trying to post comments too. Being the smart one I am, I kept clicking on 'comment' thinking, this time it'll work!! It didn't....Anyway, I'm so sorry this happened!! That's so sad - and so scary!! :(

Ok, having your bike stolen is annoying and all (happened to me during college...in Eugene of course) but having someone on your balcony is just CREEPY! Guys, we seriously can't live here much longer. I'm really starting to get freaked out!

That sucks!! Well you could always turn it into cheap entertainment. When we lived in Chicago we lived on Ghetto street USA. I thought I was going to die everyday, but I would always humor myself by setting little obnoxious traps just to irritate them. Ok I know I'm weird but it really was funny! Call it a time killer! If you do something to make them trip up or down the stairs it's totally worth it!

I feel your pain. My trusy bike was stolen recently too. 5 feet from a guard station that has a security guard there 24/7. Apparently guys with big bolt cutters clipping chains is not a problem in the security sector in NY. So sorry for your loss.
